This eventually led him to retrain in Functional Medicine (via the Nutritional Therapist route). Alex now runs Cambridge Functional Medicine, a busy practice in the fens, and works with patients with a diverse range of conditions.

Bobby Sira

Bobby graduated in Pharmacy with First-Class Honours from King’s College, London in 1996 followed by post-graduate research in Molecular Medicine, University College London. He worked in Pharmacy and the Development of Services both in the NHS and private sectors for over 25 years; the more he treated people with conventional medicine, the more he observed the reliance on drugs and the decline in responsibility for one’s own health.

In 2016 he delved into Ayurveda, the mother of modern Functional Medicine, completing his Diploma for Ayurveda Healthcare, seamlessly integrating these approaches with his clinical expertise in standard healthcare and the NHS. He believes that our bodies and minds are over-saturated by the notion of a ‘pill to fix it’, and has an intuitive insight on how to guide people to re-balance, rethink, and re-evaluate their responsibility to living.

Bobby teaches how Eastern sciences support and uphold the way we treat and manage patients in the West, and the combined effort of both is the powerful key to positive long-term outcomes. As an Integrative Health Specialist and founder of PharmAveda UK, he prescribes individual personalised health journeys, with a particular focus on Integrative Oncology.

Dr Adigo Atabo

With over 20 years experience as a medical doctor, and 7 years experience in functional medicine, Dr Adigo Atabo advocates for a networked approach to health and chronic disease management.  She is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner, a Fellow in Plastic Surgery at the West African College of Surgeons, a Member at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and is Founder and Managing Director at Persomic, a web platform providing personalised, data-driven support for nutrition therapy practitioners.

Andie graduated from Nottingham University medical school in 1998 and worked initially in hospital medicine before becoming a GP for many years.

She is now part of Mosaic Medical as a fully certified FM doctor and also works as an appraisal lead within the NHS. Andie believes that the functional approach is the way we should be managing all chronic health issues with high quality medical training. To that end she is excited to be part of creating BCFM and focus on quality and governance within this.

When not working Andie will be found paddle boarding, running and enjoying family life in Dorset.
