BCFM College of Functional Medicine

"Empowering doctors, improving lives: personalised and evidence-based healthcare that connects you to your health, community, nature, and our planet.

A scientific understanding of the uniqueness of every person and our interconnectedness with others, food, environment, lifestyle and societal factors, as the foundation for healthcare systems and policies."

Doctors practising functional medicine have a profound respect for the uniqueness and inherent dignity of every person, viewing the whole as a complex and interconnected system. They consider the influence of genetics, environment, lifestyle, and social factors, understanding that these elements shape an individual's health journey. By addressing the whole person, doctors guide patients towards personalised treatment plans that promote not only physical health but also emotional well-being and wholeness.

Mission Statement

"The BCFM College of Functional Medicine is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities through education, research, and advocacy in the field of functional medicine."

Our mission is to empower doctors in providing personalised, effective, and evidence-based care with the knowledge and tools to support individuals to take control of their health. We strive to advance the science of functional medicine to promote its integration into healthcare for all to benefit, and to foster a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to improving health outcomes for all.

Through education, research, and collaboration, doctors will contribute to the evolution of medical practice, inspiring their peers and future generations of healthcare practitioners to approach medicine with reverence for the human spirit.
